Ingredient Analysis
Papain: is derived from papaya. It is a powerful protease with particular activity in cleaving peptide bonds involving basic amino acids - leucine or glycine.
Bromelain: is a protease derived from pineapples. Bromelain has been shown to activate compounds that break down fibrin. Contains sulphur proteinase which help to breakdown protein.
Lipase: A triglyceride digestive enzyme. Essential in eliminating heartburn. This enzyme breakdown fats into fatty acids and glycerol.
Trypsin: cleaves peptides at the carboxyl group of arginine and lysine.
Amylase: This enzyme is essential for breaking down starch, glycogen and specific polysaccharides.
Chymotrypsin: The chymotrypsin in Digest-Zyme is highly concentrated. It cleaves peptide bonds adjacent to aromatic amino acids.
